Fair Fight Celebrates Democratic Pick-Ups In Five Key Georgia Municipal Races; Endorsed Candidates Prevail in 12 Races

Municipal Candidates Endorsed by Fair Fight Won Key Victories in Jurisdictions Spanning All Regions of State

ATLANTA — Today, Fair Fight PAC celebrated victories in local elections across Georgia. In total, 12 Fair Fight-endorsed candidates won. A Democratic candidate advanced to the runoff in the Warner Robins mayoral race, in which Fair Fight also endorsed.

“Democrats in Georgia scored key victories as Fair Fight-endorsed, pro-voting rights candidates prevailed in every corner of the state,” said Fair Fight Political Director André Fields. “Most notably, three mayorships and two key suburban city council seats changed from Red to Blue, further cementing Georgia Democrats’ progress and delivering momentum going into next year.”

Fair Fight-endorsed candidates who picked up Republican-held seats were:

Booker Gainor, Mayor of Cairo (Grady County)
Ann Tarpley, Mayor of Hampton (Henry County)
Marlene Taylor-Crawford, Council Post 4 of Lawrenceville, (Gwinnett County)
Sandra Vincent, Mayor of McDonough (Henry County)
Melody Kelley, Council District 2 of Sandy Springs (Fulton County)

Each of these candidates prevailed in tough races, winning between 50.8 percent and 52.2 percent of the vote in their respective races.

Joyce Denson, Mayor of Toomsboro (Wilkinson County)
Sandra Tooley, Council District 2 of Valdosta (Lowndes County)
Derek Mack, Council Post 1 of Warner Robins (Houston County)
