The latest from Fair Fight Action
Atlanta — Georgians have just one week before the deadline to register to vote in the 2024 elections or update/make changes to their voter registration. The October 7 deadline comes as Georgians have faced mass voter challenges aiming to purge voters from the registration rolls, severe scalebacks on ballot drop box locations, and unnecessary rule changes driven by MAGA-aligned Georgia State Election Board members that will sow chaos and doubt about election results.
“Since 2018, Georgians have achieved record turnout in major elections, cycle after cycle, thanks to the work of voting rights activists to invest in ways to protect voters from attempts to remove them from the rolls, restrict access to the ballot, and deny the results of our elections,” said Lauren Groh-Wargo, CEO of Fair Fight PAC. “The MAGA operation has infiltrated every part of our election administration system, and we know that one way to fight back is to ensure the results are unquestionable by engaging voters to drive huge turnout. As the voter registration deadline approaches, Georgians should check their voter registration status today to ensure it’s up-to-date and remind their friends and family to do the same, as more than 368,000 voters were moved to inactive status after Georgia’s local elections in 2023.”
368,479 Georgia voters were moved from active status to inactive status after Georgia’s local election in 2023 through September 2024. Voters should know that even if their voter registration status is inactive they can still vote in the upcoming election.
Georgians should make sure they’re registered and ready to vote, so they can make their voices heard in a historic election. The last day to register to vote (or update your info) for the upcoming November 5 election is Monday, October 7. Don’t wait until then — check your registration today.
Georgians can visit PeachVote.com for non-partisan voting and election information and mvp.sos.ga.gov to check their voter registration status, register to vote, or find their polling location.
