Fair Fight Launches New Voter Purge Lookup Tool as State Moves to Cancel Nearly Half a Million Registrations

Atlanta – In response to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s actions to remove nearly 500,000 voters from the state’s voter registration rolls, Fair Fight launched a new voter purge lookup tool to help Georgians quickly check to see if they are on the list to be purged and, if eligible, take action to stay on the rolls ahead of key elections this fall.

Launched on Fair Fight’s website today, the new tool is designed to empower voters with step-by-step guidance, background on Georgia’s purge process, and a direct path to share their story if wrongly targeted. Fair Fight is immediately promoting the tool through direct voter contact methods like texts and emails, alongside social media and radio ads, and more – working to ensure that Georgians’ voter registrations aren’t wrongly erased without a fight. Georgians can access the new tool at FairFight.com/StopThePurges.

“This is voter suppression by administrative process – and it’s happening alongside efforts in Washington to pass the SAVE Act, which would bury voter registration under mountains of new government red tape and disenfranchise tens of millions of Americans. Fair Fight’s new tool helps voters defend their freedom to vote and stay on the rolls – because we can’t let flawed data or government bureaucracy silence our voices or strip away our power,” said Fair Fight CEO Lauren Groh-Wargo.

Background: Earlier this month, Secretary Raffensperger sent letters to nearly half a million voters, warning their registrations would be canceled unless they respond within 40 days. The purge would affect roughly 6 percent of Georgia’s registered voters – more than enough to swing a statewide election.

History Repeats Itself: This purge echoes Georgia’s past under then-Secretary of State Brian Kemp, whose office removed over 1.4 million voters from the rolls between 2012 and 2018 – including nearly 670,000 in 2017 alone. Many were flagged for missing recent elections or having mail returned as undeliverable. Experts at the time warned that these methods disproportionately targeted Black voters and risked disenfranchising thousands of eligible Georgians.

Innovating to Fight Voter Suppression: Fair Fight’s new tool is part of a broader push to protect ballot access through innovation and voter empowerment. Last year, Fair Fight Action launched Peaches, a first-of-its-kind multilingual AI chatbot that helps voters register, find their voting location, and access accurate election information.
